Light burned magnesia ball is made of ordinary light burned magnesia powder and mixed with compressed ball. Light burned magnesia ball is mainly used for converter steelmaking, slag splashing and furnace protection. The preparation of lightly burned magnesium balls is to add 80% lightly burned magnesium powder into 20% water, and put it into a mixer for rolling, stirring, mixing for 15-2O minutes to form a mixture. The product is prepared by a belt conveyor and then stacked. After burning for 48 hours, the light burned magnesia balls are ready for sale.

Light burned magnesia ball is used as slag regulator for slag splashing in converter. Because slag splashing protection requires proper viscosity and refractoriness of slag, reasonable slag composition is the key to implement slag splashing protection. Generally, slag can not be splashed directly, and a certain amount of magnesia spheres should be added to adjust the slag. At the same time, the use of dolomite should be replaced to reduce the slag and increase the content of MgO in slag.

Magnesium oxide is a high melting point mineral, melting point is 2800 C, the content of magnesium oxide in slag is increased, the viscosity of slag is increased, refractoriness is improved, slag is easier to combine with lining, forming an effective slag protective layer on lining, thereby improving lining life and reducing consumption.
